Impact Bargaining, Round Two

Good afternoon GAs, The first session of Impact Bargaining with the university administration was reassuringly productive. So far the administration has already agreed with us that the federal “Families First Coronavirus Response Act” covers expanded sick leave for GAs and their loved ones (whether that means roommates, parents, children, partners, &c.) as well as child care leave; that GAs cannot be negatively evaluated by their supervisors or students for any semester affected by the pandemic; and that ONLY GAs deemed as “essential employees” will be made to report to campus during this time. But on the other hand we are still hammering out several key issues with the administration, such as fee refunds, guaranteed re-appointment for GAs whose work has been delayed by the pandemic, and reimbursement for lost travel funds.  Want to help the union achieve these outstanding goals? Now with all our bargaining sessions taking place on Zoom, it’s easier than ever to show your solidarity with our efforts.  Our next meeting is FRIDAY, (TOMORROW!) APRIL 10TH, from 9:00AM-11:00AM.
